Want to be better at sales? - give this one a listen!
Tom Tonkin is the CEO and Co-Founder of Sales Conservatory, and he also has a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior. Tom takes us through a true-life tale of growing up the son of a diplomat in various South American countries and how he started getting into music - which at one time, he planned as a profession.
In this episode, we talk a lot about sales principles, and his marriage of the principals learned in sales and music at the Sales Conservancy. We talk also about his influences and experiences that led him to believe their sales training approach at Sales Conservancy would get better results, and the research he's done to back it up.
We get into plenty of faith, family politics conversation along the way, and Tom shares a lot of principles that our listeners are looking for when it comes to how can we better connect with others. How can we help them? How can we understand them? And more especially how can we be sincere? Tom's research took him deep into sincerity versus authenticity and spoiler alert - sincerity wins out!
Look for Tom's book coming out soon, titled Sincerely Yours, and thanks Tom for being on the show and I hope you all enjoy this program.

My guess on today's episode was Tom Tonkin and Tom is the CEO and co-founder of sales conservatory, and he is also a PhD in organizational behavior. And Tom takes us through his tale of, uh, growing up the son of a diplomat in various south American countries, mostly, and, um, having kind of a private Catholic school experience where he really started getting into music. And really the sales conservatory is a marriage. Principles of music and sales and the time it takes in practice and rehearsal and performance. And so we talk a lot about sales principles. In this episode, we talk a lot also about, um, his influences and kind of the, the aspects of his own journey that led him to believe that kind of this structured sales approach was the right thing to do. Um, we get into plenty of faith, family politics conversation along the way. And Tom just really shares a lot of, uh, principles that our listeners are looking for when it comes to, how can we better connect with people? How can we help them? How can we understand them? And more especially how can we be sincere? Uh, part of our conversation was sincerity versus authenticity and spoiled alert. Uh, sincerity wins out and look for Tom's book coming out soon, and that is sincerely yours. And so thanks Tom for being on the show and I hope you enjoy this program.
